Trying to stop smoking without the will power to succeed will probably lead to failure as you will find plenty of excuses to resume smoking.  A stressful job is often an excuse for them to smoke as it feels that it helps them to relax. Smokers can be stubborn and don’t want to quit smoking if they feel that it makes them look like they are quitting as a result of pressure from other people.Does that sound like you?  If so, then you are living in denial.  There are far more good reasons for quitting smoking than you have good reasons to carry on with your habit.

Your Appearance

If smokers could smell their own breath they wouldn’t find it pleasant, and the smell clings to clothes and hair too. Unfortunately smokers don’t notice how bad they smell but non-smokers most certainly do. A smokers home will also reek of cigarette smoke and is unpleasant for people who have to visit their home. The smell of cigarette smoke contaminates everything it comes into contact with and there is nothing at all pleasant about the aroma.

Have you ever looked at the teeth of a smoker? Rather than being white the teeth of a smoker are stained yellow or even brown. Smoking causes people to age more rapidly and look older than their years. Smoking also causes any excess weight to be stored in odd places of the body. As a result a female smoker may develop a thin bottom and legs whilst gaining weight around her middle. If you want to improve your appearance then quitting smoking would be a great help.

The Expense

As well as the health benefits of quitting smoking, also consider all of the money you would save by doing so. We are currently all experiencing the effects of a serious economic depression and quitting smoking would ease your financial worries. It would help you and your family to get through these tough economic times if you were to quit smoking. Quitting could potentially save you thousands of dollars per year depending on how much you smoke.

Your Health

The most important reason to stop smoking is for the sake of your physical health. Smoking has been firmly linked to fatal diseases and health conditions such as lung cancer, bronchitis, stroke and heart disease. For some reason many people who smoke are convinced that these diseases and health complaints only happen to other smokers but this simply isn’t true. Unless you wish to spend your final days in agony and gasping for every breath then you need to quit smoking before it is too late.

You Must Be Mentally Prepared

If you are determined enough to quit your habit then there are many smoking cessation methods that can help you.  But you have to sincerely want to give up smoking otherwise you will fail.In order to stop smoking you need to be mentally prepared by knowing that you don’t want to smoke anymore, you need to do it for yourself and not because other people think you should quit. With a bit of luck reading these reasons why you should quit might actually motivate you into doing so.  If you truly hate the damage that cigarettes have done to your appearance, health and finances, then you have really do have a good chance of quitting for good.
