If you are a smoker and have tried to stop smoking before you are aware of how many stop smoking products there are to help you quit.  There are many ways to try to stop smoking but what works?  If you’ve tried to quit in the past you know how difficult it can be.

Smoking affects the dopamine uptake receptors in the brain.  Nicotine stimulates your brain into thinking smoking is pleasurable.  In short, nicotine causes higher levels of dopamine which is related to pleasure.  The effects of nicotine wear off in a few minutes which causes the smoker to crave another cigarette to then again increase the dopamine levels resulting in a vicious cycle that never ends.

There are also behavioral addictions associated with smoking including the ritual of lighting the cigarette and the fixation of handling the cigarette.  Some find these behaviors very difficult to stop since they are a form of comfort especially in times of stress.

Behavioral modification treatment in the form of hypnosis may be our best defense against nicotine addiction.  Hypnosis relies on your brains subconscious to create undesirable associations with smoking.  Hypnosis suggestion is a powerful component to behavioral modification that can have great results.

The best part about stop smoking hypnosis is the ease in which you can stop smoking.  By associating smoking with something unpleasant hypnosis allows smokers to gradually not want to smoke.  Some successful quitters have even reported that after hypnosis smoking actually made them feel ill making it even easier to quit.

Some people say it’s easy to stop smoking. And go on to say how many times they have already quit. But unless you can quit smoking for good, you have not mastered quitting smoking.  Seventy five to eighty percent of people who try to stop smoking on their own go back to smoking and have to try again and again to stop, if you quit smoking through hypnosis you have a greater chance of success.

Since 1964 more than 12 million Americans have died from smoking.  Cigarette smoking kills an estimated 440,000 U.S. citizens each year.  That’s more than alcohol, heroin, cocaine homicide, suicide, car accidents, fire and AIDS combined.  The warnings are clearly marked on each pack of cigarettes.  We aren’t ignoring the effects of smoking it’s just so difficult to quit smoking most smokers try and fail never to try again.

Quitting smoking now will improve your health for years to come.  It’s never too late to reap the benefits of quitting.  Within twenty four hours of quitting, blood pressure and chances of heart attack decrease.  Long term benefits of smoking cessation include decreased risk of stroke, cancer, and heart disease.  Quitting smoking now will increase your life span by years.
