5. Keep yourself occupied at all times for the first few days . Go to eating places where smoking is banned, play a sport, work on hobbies. Take note that your desires will be recurrent, but these do not last long.

6. Celebrate quitting milestones. Promise yourself something new if you can go two days, a week, a month without smoking. Use wisely the money you would have otherwise spent on cigarettes.

Emphasize on quitting smoking, not maintaining your weight. Diet before or after you have quit, but not for the first quarter. Allow yourself a few extra pounds. You don’t need to worry. These methods will certainly be effective to people who have sought to stop smoking. If you are a smoker, maybe you should try these techniques and check its effectiveness on you.
