Enquire anyone why they love smoking and you’d end up hearing all sorts of answers. Smoking causes cancer; a very visible line that you’d most probably see in every cigarette pack. How many would have stopped to think twice about the truth behind that simple line? If there were people who actually noticed it and stopped smoking, the world would be a better, smoke-free place to live in. But unfortunately, that is not the case. Smoking is a damper to anyone’s life. This addiction can harm the most important part of your life; your health. If you are a smoker, would you like to end up in clothes that smell like smoke, have stained teeth have infections; see wrinkles on your face, or bad breath? If you have any idea about the consequences of smoking, then why quit smoking is essential would be rather obvious isn’t it?

It’s obvious why quit smoking is difficult; it takes a lot of courage, time and patience. Although the start to quitting may take a while, it won’t be a worthless task towards the end. The most important reason why quit smoking is needed now more than ever is because of the increased number of patients suffering from cancer. Yes, you heard it right. Cancer, one of the deadliest illnesses that has taken the lives of millions from all over the world can occur to people who smoke regularly. Smoking paves the way to all sorts of cancers, including lung and throat cancer. Recent studies show that if you quit smoking for at least a period of 10 years at a stretch, you will have the lowest probability of getting such a sickness.

If you are a smoker and think that you are immune to infections, you are wrong as smoking has a high probability of accelerating your chances of being infected with a disease. Some even get chronic illnesses like asthma, etc. A lot of male smokers become infertile because of their smoking habit. Some are actually ignorant about this fact, but it is the truth. What really happens is that the sperm count in men can decrease and they may end up in losing the chances of having a child. Women smokers can lose the chance of becoming pregnant.

Smoking can lead to depression. Even though a lot of smokers have a belief that smoking helps them lighten up their mind and restrains them from being depressed, it is actually the opposite that happens. This is another reason why quit smoking is a prevailing issue in today’s society. If you smoke and already know about the above mentioned reasons, and yet smoke, then at least thinking about the cost would be beneficial. Today, just one cigarette pack would cost more than $5. If for example you consume one pack a day, just imagine what kind of a cost you’d be incurring by the end of a year?

If you really have the desire to quit smoking, then keep in mind that once you get into the mood, there won’t be any constraints unless you let it stop you from going ahead with your plan. It’s a matter of motivation and will power. Once you’ve achieved that, the rest could be easy as 1, 2, and 3.
